The Mandalorian’s Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon in the series, expands on Baby Yoda’s powers, telling a young fan that he can see the future.

At GalaxyCon, The Mandalorian’s Giancarlo Esposito revealed some new details about Grogu, nicknamed Baby Yoda, ahead of the start of filming on the third season of the Disney+ programme. Moff Gideon, played by Esposito, was a former officer in the Imperial Security Bureau before to the Empire’s collapse. He heads an Imperial remnants faction in the show, and has spent the previous two seasons hunting Grogu to utilise in his research. He also held the Darksaber, a formidable Mandalorian artefact carried by Mandalorian commanders in the past. Din Djarin and his companions were last seen capturing him after rescuing Grogu from Gideon’s hands in the season 2 finale.

Despite his evil roles, Esposito is a soft-spoken and compassionate person in real life, as demonstrated by a recent video released by WRAL from GalaxyCon in Raleigh, NC. In the video, a little admirer presents Esposito with a Baby Yoda plush animal, which he gratefully accepts. Then he says to the little fan:

I love this Baby Yoda. I am going to get this child, and it’s for a very different reason than many people think. This child has magic powers … and this child can see the future, and we want everyone to know eventually on this show that this child could save our universe.

Despite his early age, Baby Yoda has a strong grasp of the Force, as seen by his appearances on The Mandalorian. The fact that he can allegedly see into the future, on the other hand, is a complete shock. However, Yoda was a prophet in the Star Wars movie, and because Grogu is from the same race, it’s only natural that he would have comparable abilities. Grogu will appear in season 3 of The Mandalorian, thus it’s very conceivable that we’ll see proof of such abilities at some time.

The Book of Boba Fett, a spin-off series of The Mandalorian, finished filming in June, with Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen reprising their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, respectively. Despite the fact that Mando himself, Pedro Pascal, is presently filming The Last of Us TV series for HBO, filming on season three of The Mandalorian is scheduled to begin shortly. However, due to the character’s helmeted look, body-doubles have frequently filled in for Pascal on set, with Pascal’s lines being put in afterwards. Esposito is set to reprise his role as Gideon in the series, with the actor promising that fans would see more of the character, though nothing more is known  The Mandalorian season three.
